Pokemon 151 reprint or restock? Booster bundles back on sale
The best price-per-pack product of the Pokemon Scarlet & Violet—151 set is dropping in cost. And if you time your online shopping right, you might just snag booster bundles at MSRP.
Market price of a Pokemon 151 booster bundle reached an all-time high in August at $48.92, according to TCGplayer. Since then, it dropped to $42.49, the lowest point since April.
That’s a direct response to restocks in recent weeks at Amazon, Best Buy, Walmart and even The Pokemon Center itself. Booster bundles were back on sale at The Pokemon Center as of Saturday morning and were out of stock again in a matter of hours.
So, a full-blown reprint this is not — at least yet. Multiple Pokemon card shops with distributor connections have said 151 products aren’t back available to them yet.
The iconic set nears its one-year anniversary on September 22, begging the question: Will Pokemon 151 reprint?
Pokemon 151 featured all the Kanto region’s original creatures newly reimagined. As a special set, it sold out quickly, and traditional booster boxes weren’t printed. Bundles MSRP’d — briefly — at $26.94 via The Pokemon Center.
Conventional wisdom says The Pokemon Company will reprint 151. It brought back collectors in the hundreds, including this writer, as the old instinct to catch ’em all reignited.
If there’s perhaps one reason 151 hasn’t reprinted, maybe Pokemon is aiming to see millennials collect other modern sets — to chase the likes of Greninja, Roaring Moon and Raging Bolt the same way they did Charizard.
To those who did manage to recently score 151 booster bundles at MSRP: Congratulations. Orders of 10 from Amazon and Walmart appear to be shipping in sealed cases, adding longterm value. Best Buy only allowed for purchases of three or fewer and still sold out quickly.
Turn on Twitter/X notifications from accounts such as @PokemonRestocks and @PokemonDealsTCG to get in on the next restock, if there is one.
