Pokemon Evolving Skies packs for sale in 2024: Here’s what to look for

The vaunted Umbreon VMAX might still be hiding on your local store shelf.

The past few weeks have seen another round of Pokemon Trading Card game products emerge at select Target and Walmart locations containing the popular Evolving Skies set.

Pull rates are tough for “Evolving Cries,” released back in 2022, but there’s value in looking out for a single sealed booster pack considering TCGplayer’s market price has climbed to almost $13. Eight singles from the set trade above $100 — all of them Secret Rare or Ultra Rare variations of Evee evolutions, Rayquaza and Dragonite.

So, what should you be looking for to snag Evolving Skies packs in 2024?

Knock Out Collection boxes

Boxes dated 2022 and featuring images of Boltund or Toxtricity have been known to contain an Evolving Skies pack as one of their boosters, along with a second pack from the Sword and Shield era. Shoppers should also look for a white rectangle on the bottom-right corner of the back of the box reading “FSC” — credit to X/Twitter user Johnny Crambo for pointing this out.

Find these in Target or Walmart, and you should expect a $9.99 MSRP. Note that Knock Out Collection boxes are often on shelves that don’t contain Evolving Skies. Carefully check off the criteria above when purchasing to raise your chances.

Eveelutions tins

Tins featuring Espeon, Sylveon and Umbreon are also still in circulation holding Evolving Skies. Similar to the Knock Out Collections, however, be particular in picking these up.

Tins with Evolving Skies are fully wrapped in plastic, as opposed to having some of the tin exposed. Also, the area displaying the tin’s promo card should feature a yellow honeycomb design rather than plain black backing.

Galar Power mini tins

Another $9.99 MSRP for two packs, and one could have Evolving Skies. Check the code on the tin before purchasing. You’re looking for “C22.”

Plus an online option…

Per multiple buyers, the Spring 2022 Collector Chest features product shots of only Brilliant Stars and Fusion Strike — but actually arrives with a pair of Evolving Skies packs. It has been in and out of stock recently via Target.
